How to – take your training to the next level

While working out for a while, you’ll certainly reach one point when progress will be very slow or not even present. Then you know it’s time to change something, time to push yourself harder. Don’t hesitate to take your training to the next level.

LIMITATIONS

To take your body to the next stage, you must know your current limitations, the maximum of what your body is capable now. Don’t just focus on your max weights you can perform! Explore your training routine, see if you can perform some exercises better with more intensity. Maybe some exercises should be changed with others, more efficient for you. Of course, new exercises and variations are always welcome to make more of your training. So by limitations I mean the highest intensity possible, shortest time possible and heaviest weights you can handle. You must know limitations before you break them.

FOCUS

Working harder in a gym and being capable of completing training in a shorter time is something that has to be the priority if you reach the next level. Training needs to consist of constant action combined with short breaks between sets. Sets need to be done correctly, last rep needs to be performed with same attention and form as first. Last reps are hardest but most significant for your body to change. When pain starts to appear your will is not allowed to disappear. Muscle failure leads your training to success.

EXERCISES

As previously said, activities need to be performed highly focused with the right form. It’s pretty much straightforward, if you want to go to the next level, you got to make them harder. That can be achieved by adding little extra weight on your barbell, but don’t fool yourself, stay realistic. Avoid injuries and wrong doing by not letting your ego run your workout. To drain your muscles, you can always do supersets or even giant sets. Also, you can spice basics workouts to make them harder, for example, weighted pull-ups or dips.

PERSONAL TRAINER

If you decide to move your limits, consider hiring a personal trainer. An expert will make sure that you do everything right. He’ll adjust training program to you and track your progress (by using mogy app). Coach is a great source of motivation to get you beyond your limitations.

NUTRITION

The body needs better recovery after harder workouts. Nutrition mustn’t fall behind, to repair your muscles! Maintain a diet with high protein intake and don’t underestimate the importance of micronutrients. For faster recovery and progress, you may use some supplements such as whey protein, creatine and glutamine.

So if you don’t see results coming, you come to them. Make more of your training.
